Feature Overview

Mail usage is used in PlugClaw to view and process K-9 Mail message content, drafts, replies, and attachments on an Android device.

Supported Capabilities

You can view message lists and message content, and also sync the mailbox, write emails, send drafts, reply to messages, and mark messages as read or starred. When a message needs to be saved, you can export the complete original message. When an attachment needs to be processed, you can first view the attachment list, then save the selected attachment to a device directory.

Usage Examples

View and Read Mail

When you need to check recently received mail, you can view the message list first, then select one message and read its content.

  1. Enter this in the PlugClaw conversation:
Show the 5 most recent unread messages in the K-9 Mail inbox, and read the first message.
  1. Check the message subject, sender, received time, and content returned by PlugClaw. If there are many results, add an account, folder, unread status, or time range to narrow the scope.

Send or Reply to Mail

When you need to write an email, you can create a draft and send it. If you are handling an existing message, you can reply or reply all directly. Before sending, confirm the recipients, subject, body, and attachments.

  1. Enter this in the PlugClaw conversation:
Create a draft in K-9 Mail addressed to user@example.com, with the subject "Meeting Materials" and the body "Hello, the meeting materials have been prepared. Please check them."
  1. After confirming that the draft content is correct, ask PlugClaw to send the draft. You can also ask it to reply to a specific message, or attach an existing device-side file to a draft or reply.

Save a Message or Attachment

When you need to archive, back up, or deliver an email, you can save the complete message as an .eml file. This file preserves the message body, mail header information, and original attachments. If you only need an attachment, you can save that attachment separately to a device directory so it can be opened, uploaded, or copied to the host later.

  1. Enter this in the PlugClaw conversation:
Save the message with a subject containing "Contract Confirmation" to the Documents directory, using the file name contract-confirmation.eml.
  1. PlugClaw will first confirm which message should be saved and the exact save location. If a file with the same name may already exist at the target location, confirm whether to overwrite it or use a new file name.

  2. If you only need to save an attachment, continue by entering:

Show the attachments in this message, and save the contract PDF to the Documents directory.
  1. PlugClaw will list the normal attachments that can be exported, then export after confirming the target attachment and save location. After export is complete, you can continue by asking PlugClaw to open the file, upload it, or use file management to copy it to another directory.
