1. What is a Product Key?

The product key is the unique activation credential for the PlugOS device, and it is stored on the QR code card inside the product packaging box.

2. What is the Purpose of the Product Key?

It is mainly used for device binding and factory reset operations. After a factory reset, all data will be completely erased, so please operate with caution!

3. What to Do If the Product Key Is Lost?

The product key is unique and cannot be recovered once lost. Please keep it properly.

4. Notes on Product Key

  1. The product key is the unique credential for managing the product; please do not disclose it.
  2. After using the key reset function, a new product key will be generated, and the product key on the card inside the packaging box will become permanently invalid. Please operate with caution!

5. How to Connect PlugOS to a Host Device? What Ports or Cables Are Needed?

The PlugOS device features a Type-C port, which is the same as the port of Android phones. No additional ports or cables are required, and it can be directly plugged into a phone for use. (Some phones require manual activation of the OTG switch to recognize the PlugOS device.)

6. When the Device Is Plugged into the Phone, the Device Light Doesn’t Turn On and There’s No Response When Adding the Device

1、 The PlugOS device needs to draw power from a host device such as a phone. After the PlugOS device is powered on, it requires approximately 15 seconds to start up, and the indicator light will turn on once it is started.

2、 If the indicator light still doesn’t turn on after waiting for more than 30 seconds, please check the OTG settings of your phone. Methods to enable OTG on phones:

  • Huawei phones: The OTG function is enabled by default. If it fails to work, you may need to check “Use USB Drive” in Settings > Storage and USB > USB Drive Mode.
  • Xiaomi phones: Most models have OTG enabled by default.
  • Vivo phones: OTG is supported by default. If it doesn’t work, you need to enable it in Settings > More Settings > OTG and USB Drive Functions.
  • OPPO phones: The OTG function needs to be turned on manually. Go to Settings > More Settings > OTG Switch to enable it.
  • Honor phones: OTG is supported by default. If it doesn’t work, you may need to turn it on in Settings > Smart Assistance > USB Drive Manager.
  • Apple phones: Only support phone models with a Type-C port.

3、 After enabling the OTG function, re-plug the PlugOS device (wait for 15 seconds after unplugging the device before plugging it in again). If the indicator light still doesn’t turn on after waiting for more than 30 seconds, please contact customer service.

7. What to Do If the Unlock Password Is Forgotten?

Locate the device in the PlugOS APP, select “Factory Reset” in the settings, enter the recovery key to reset the device to factory mode, then re-bind the device.

Note: Factory reset will erase all user data, so please operate with caution!

8. How to Retrieve Data If the Device Is Lost?

The PlugOS hardware device is a personal item, and users are responsible for keeping it properly. Once the device is lost, its internal data cannot be retrieved through other means. Please keep the device securely. If you are concerned about data loss, you can regularly back up the data in the device via PlugOS Settings → Backup and Restore.

9. Is the PlugOS device hot and broken?

The PlugOS device integrates a processor, running memory, storage space, and Android system (which can be understood as a mini phone) internally. Similar to mobile phones, when running large games or multitasking, the device runs at high speed, causing the device temperature to rise. Please ensure that the equipment has a good ventilation environment during use and do not cover the equipment (such as adding protective covers).

Do PlugOS devices require additional power supply?

No need. When Plugos is connected to a computer, it obtains power from the computer device without the need for an additional power source.
