Why Does the PlugOS APP Prompt for a Device Status Change? Is It Necessary to Add It Again?

The PlugOS hardware and host use a bidirectional authentication mechanism. Both the device and the host maintain a record table that indicates which devices or hosts are allowed to connect.

There are two situations that can change the record table on the PlugOS device:

  1. When the PlugOS device is bound to multiple hosts, if a user from one host deletes the corresponding entry in the device’s record table, that host will no longer be able to connect to the device normally.
  2. If the PlugOS device is restored to factory settings, all data — including the record table — will be cleared. As a result, none of the previous hosts will be able to connect to the device.

If this occurs, please locate the product key of the device (note: if a new key has been generated, the original key included with the device will become invalid), and re-add the device using the new key.
